Strange things have been happening to me all my life - seeing auras, interacting with the spirits of some who have died, having vision from my left palm, experiencing telepathy with a lizard and with giant Redwood trees, having a time-travel experience and much more. With rare exception, these things happened without the benefit (or hindrance) of drugs, alcohol, sleep deprivation or anything else that might objectively cause or contribute to these strange happenings. Rather than be frightened by these strange events, I am fascinated.
I find that many others have had equally strange experiences. The quest of this project is to collect as many strange stories as possible, to give these stories a voice and an audience. Each of these stories are true. They are not made up, they are not fiction. For many years, I was a skeptic. But not anymore.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama says in his book The Good Heart: “There is a … phenomena involving mystical visions at the sacred lake of Lhamo Lhatso in Tibet. I have even heard of cases in which foreign tourists have had visions at the lake. However, if there are ten people viewing the lake at the same time, it is possible that each individual will have a different vision. In certain cases, people have even succeeded in capturing the images in photographs. Why are there such differences? It is deeply mysterious. Yet there must be some explanation.” (p. 92) “Frankly speaking, these are very mysterious phenomena, and I cannot claim to have any competence in explaining them in detail. I feel that these are areas that require a great deal of study and research, as well as experimentation.” (p.91)
This project of collecting stories is the first step towards studying and researching this phenomena.
